Accessibility

The Brick Children School is committed to an ethical, accessible, and standards compliant design and development structure.

Accessibility on the web

Millions of people use the internet. There are a range of obstacles some may encounter when using the internet due to issues like colour blindness, poor eyesight, total blindness, and impaired motor functions. Accessibility in terms of the World Wide Web means accommodating all users, and making reasonable provision to ensure that everyone can get as much as possible out of the internet. Good accessibility is not just for this purpose: an accessible site makes navigation, information dissemination, and general use intuitive, for everyone.

The Brick Children School website aims to be as easy to use as possible for all groups of people. This site has been tested against the WAI guidelines and achieves a minimum of level two compliance, with the majority of pages achieving the maximum ‘level three’.

Web Standards

This site has been built using common technologies and techniques known as ‘Web Standards’, utilising technologies such as XHTML and CSS3. Anyone using a browser that supports web standards will be able to use and experience this site as intended.
